"Rabbi Michael Comins came to our desert congregation and taught us about the desert! The most inspirational part of the weekend was when Mike led us out amidst the cactus and sage-brush. There we looked and listened to nature. There we read scriptural texts and saw how they related to us. There we listened to ourselves and davenned from the heart. That weekend, Rabbi Comins helped all of us hear the ‘still small voice.’"

Leadership Development and Group Building

A TorahTrek Leadership Development program puts the fun and excitement of a wilderness trip or retreat into Jewish context.

We provide your group with an experience that draws out a person's love for life and awe for God's creation. We inspire participants with Judaism's call to live in right relation with the natural world, and with the Jewish vision of redeeming the world through attitude and deed, through chesed (loving-kindness) and the practice of mitzvot . In study, discussion and experiential exercise, we challenge people to locate that vision in their hearts. Finally, we present service as the appropriate response to the needs of the individual, the planet, our people and our community. Having shared their deepest values and aspirations, participants form deep friendships with their fellows and leave with renewed energy for the work of tikkun olam (repairing the world).

Each program is unique, designed according to your educational goals. Together with you, we choose venues, activities and locations (see Custom Trips) suited to the physical abilities and comfort level of your group. Contact us at info@torahtrek.com to discuss a leadership development program for your institution.
